Honey Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts

There’s no better time to try a new dish than on a Monday! A new week means new opportunities and adventures- even in the kitchen! I know, for most people, brussels sprouts are the last thing they would think about eating. I didn’t even try them until a few months ago, but to my surprise, I really liked them! And guess what?! Since I liked them, you might too! This is my first time cooking brussels sprouts on my own so I decided to get a little creative. I created a honey and balsamic vinegar glaze, inspired by Once Upon a Chef’s recipe here. 

I encourage you to try something new this week- even if you think you won’t like it. You’d be surprised at what you’ll like if you just give it a chance.

Timing:

  • Preparation: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients: Makes 3-4 servings

  • 1/2 Pound Brussels Sprouts, cut in half with the stems and outside leaves removed
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/3 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Honey

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, pepper, balsamic vinegar and honey. Whisk together until honey is evenly distributed. Cut the brussels sprouts in half and toss them in the honey and balsamic mixture. Make sure to coat each piece well. Line the brussels sprouts on a baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes. At 10 minutes, take out the baking sheet and turn over the brussels sprouts so they are cooked evenly.

Turn over the brussels sprouts 10 minutes into cooking

Take the brussels sprouts out of the oven when they are finished cooking and drizzle any remaining honey and balsamic mixture on top. Serve as a side dish or snack and enjoy!
